I WAS A REALLY GOOD MOM before I HAD KIDS

Unlike Liz, I am a VERY slow reader. She reads books so fast and so frequently that she is a constant challenge for our book club. We can rarely come up with a book she hasn't read, so she always offers to re-read something so we can make a decision. I share this to tell you how unusual it is that I read this book in an hour which is a testimony to its readability but the hysterical spin Trisha Ashworth and Amy Nobile put on motherhood. If you're a stressed out Mom, (if you aren't we'd rather not hear from you), this book will put a lot of things in perspective. It is laugh-out-loud funny and will be my 2007 Holiday gift for all my too-busy-to-breath mother friends.
Especially insightful are the Mom quotes labeled appropriately as 'Dirty Little Secrets'. My favorite is the Mom who confesses to driving kids around so much that she has resorted to wearing Depends while in commute. As soon as I read that, I thought, yea right. No one would ever do that because it would make your butt look bigger. But then I thought of the 20,000 miles a year I put on my car, all within a 15 mile radius of my house, most of it while needing to pee from all the coffee I have ingested to stay awake for marathon driving sessions. That Mom just might have something there!!!
This would be a great book to read on a vacation, on the beach, under the sun, with your SolMates Sunreaders.
