Take it off, take it ALL off

As promised in my last entry (see Eye Love You), I said I would tell you about the companion product to Cethaphil. These are the only two products necessary to complete the laborious task of removing your mask. Cetaphil gets most of all the make up including eye shadow but you never want too rub too much around your eyes. Once most of the make-up is off, simply take a big puffy cotton ball and get it pretty moist (almost dripping) with L'Oreal Eye Make-up Remover. Then wipe off the excess. If you are obsessive like me and want to get ever molecule off so you can start with a super clean palette, then take a Q-tip, dip it in the pretty blue bottle and gently readers, take off the part that gets stuck right under the eye.
For every kind of cosmetic, there is a remover. However, 99% of them are either lotion-y or oily. Neither kind is good for the eyes, and can irritate them, making them bloodshot. Red eyes at our age, or any age, is not a good look.
Conversely, there is the "back to basics" approach. My dear friend Lauri, since we started wearing make-up in the mid 60's takes her eye shadow and mascara off with (and it sort of creeps me out to even think about it) Vaseline. I ask her why she does that to her beautiful eyelashes. Her response it that it is what she has always used. Some people are stuck in ruts. Lauri has said good-bye to many long lucsious lashes with this antiquated approach.
My thinking is that there is a happy medium between the dozens of removers approach and the back to basics approach and that is the partnership of Cetaphil and L'Oreal Eye Make-up remover. It is the most reasonable way to start out with a clean slate every morning.
