Naked Conversations

Naked Conversations is a book about corporate blogging, how to do it, why to do it, and how to make it work for your company. I started reading N.C. in January, back when I thought blogging would be a fun thing to do, but now that I have actually started blogging, and even got Cathy doing it, I am beginning to see how powerful it could be. We are selling a product that is ripe for a blog...and we have company model that needs the conversational flow that a blog can help to develop. We try to get as much feedback from our customers as possible, we like to know what about our glasses works for them, and what doesn't, why they like them and why they don't. We sell premium quality progressive sunglasses and we try to be open to listening, especially if the news isn't good.

So today I finished the book, sitting by a creek, watching my 9 year old and his friend chase minnows, and make boats out of sticks. And a couple of things struck me, not least of which was the chapter on Naming Your Blog. So I took the authors' advice and just changed the title of the blog (let's see how long it takes Cathy to notice). It is not a very sexy title but you know what? It describes what we do.

The next thing we need to do is figure out what kinds of things we want to talk about. And try to infer what kinds of things would be helpful to say. I have lots of ideas, and I know Cathy will, too. So stay tuned, and check out our website: www.solmatesreaders.com and let us know what you think.
